I would like to know how far you will travel for a weekend Friday-Saturday-leaving Sunday so when I'm looking at campgrounds I have an idea how far out I can look.
There are places near Galina and some going toward Springfield.
I'm also looking south around Gibson city.

Are you talking about Gibson City, IL?
There is a nice campground just south of Springfield, Ill called Double J. There is a KOA in Springfield, too, however, I have never been there. Also, Springfield has a Gander Mountain.
Just west of Springfield, there is a State Park with W/E/S hookup called Jim Edgar Panther Creek.
There is a nice State Park near Bloomington, IL. It is actually in LeRoy, IL called Moraine View. Just electric hookup, however, they do have flush potties and shower houses.

There is also Kick A po state park near Bloomington Normal area. Lots of thing to do there as well fishing, tubing. I have a file composed of campgrounds we have been to in the last few years. I can pass some info to you. Starve Rock is also nice has some nice group sites in the first circle 1-58 (don't go in the wooded area)) You can get a nice meal at the lodge too! rather pricey thou!!!! There is Lake Le- Aqua-Na near Lena Il. You can head over into wisconsin to visit the Burgoff Brewery. There's Chain -O-Lakes as well Rock Cut State Park These are places that we have camped at over the years Mike!!!!
